Leia Estimated 1.5yrs old Spayed and fully Vaccinated Kennel Trained House Trained Shows good signs toward our other dog (other dog is reactive so not formally introduced yet) Not good with small animals Escape Artist, can jump up to 4.5 ft as far as we know. Will need a solid tall fenced yard and/or leash walked. Very sweet and loving deserves a great home! Athens, AL willing to travel for the right home My boyfriend and I picked her up in late August 2025 (we believe she was living in the creek behind his workplace) She had been spotted many times next to the busy road over a period of a few weeks. One day while passing by I spotted her and pulled over. She came right to me and let me leash her. After getting her into my car we immediately drove to the ER vet. After finding she had no microchip and was relatively healthy (she had fleas, tapeworms, and was malnourished) we started trying to figure out where to take her. One of my friends I reached out to said he wanted to adopt her so we drove her halfway to meet him. He took her in, got all her vaccines and gave her a loving home for about a month. Unfortunately he had some health issues and with her activity level he was unable to keep her. We took her back in intending to foster her until she found a permanent home, I knew she wouldnt do well at the shelter so we didnt want to take her there. After a month, with no luck, we decided to try to incorporate her into our family. Unfortunately it has now been five months and I have had to face the fact that we cannot give her the life she deserves. She and my cats will not be able to coexist. All she wants to do is chase them so I've had to keep them in one small room. She scratches at the door to their room trying to get in. She is great with my boyfriends dog through a baby gate but his dog is leash aggressive so we've had minimal success in training them to be together but I think she could do well with other dogs, I think the main issue is his. She is an eloper so she will run if given the chance. All we have is a 4ft chainlink fence and she has gotten out and ran once so we only leash walk her now on a 20ft lead so she can still run and play. She knows sit and wait (as long as there aren't any squirrels around) and she is kennel trained. She also only eats off plates, not sure why but she hates putting her face in bowls. She is high energy about 1.5-3.5 years old and we plan to get her spayed before rehoming we just haven't had the money yet. She is very loving and playful and will make an amazing dog for someone with the time and resources to give her the life she truly deserves.
